History

The builduing #53 on Sadovaya street (today the building of the hotel “Na Sadovoy”) was built in the 70s of the 19th century. Elisabet Perno, an Estonian woman, was the owner of the «apartment house»  at that time. She leased furnished apartments for living (75 kopeikas per 24 hours).

In 1932 the building was completely reconstructed and the ownership was transferred to the Leningrad Stalin Academy of Industry for student accommodation according to the order of the Narkomat.

Since 1946 the dorm of the Leningrad Higher Party School OK VKP(b) was situated here.

In 1992 the mayor of Saint-Petersburg Anatoly Sobchak gave instructions to make the municipal hotel instead of the dorm #3 of the HPS.

The hotel is situated very close to the main sights of Saint-Petersburg, so it will take no more than 10-15 minutes to get to them on foot. You can walk on Dvortsovaya Square and in the eastern tip of Vasilyevsky Island any time you want, admire Kazansky Cathedral and Isaakievsky Cathedral, visit Mariinsky Theatre and famous Kunstcamera. During White Nights you can always enjoy the show of bridges-opening.
